EXIFPurge App Reviews
Worked perfectly
Not sure what all of these other reviewers did, but it worked great for me. Stripped my exif data in about 5 seconds from 20 photos. OSX 10.11.6
Crashes on opening
Continually crashes on opening. Very peeved that I had to pay for something that does not work at all.
Does not work. Shows an Ad though.
Does not work. But, of course, it shows you an advertisement. This should be removed from App Store.
I see the other commenters complaining, but this seemed to do the job fine. It shows an ad at the end of the processing. I’d pay a buck to not see the ad, but whatever.
I’m reading some reviews and I’m not sure I understand: I’ve used this app without a single issue. It does exactly what it says, i.e. strip the EXIF data from the image. File in, delete, file out. Simple as that. It’s free, and yes it does have ads. Knocked one star off for the fact the ad is a non-exitable popup after it processed the files, but it’s only for 5 seconds so it’s not that bad at all.
File size is grown
Why file size is growing even though EXIF information is removed?
not working
try to save the image after I purge Exif info but it doesn’t work , can’t find the file . and keep crashing. Hope it can be fix soon
Doesnt work.
Doesnt do anything.
BAD BAD BAD!
Wate my time to install this app! It did do nothing!
It Does What It Says It Does, Remove EXIF
I was able to quickly erase all EXIF metadata from numerous images in bulk. It works. It removes all of it.
Crashes - Worthless
Crashes. Dont waste your time.
worked for me!
Not sure why this didn’t work for everyone.. it worked perfect for me. Just purged exif data for 20 images and all opened just fine.
worked perfectly
It removed the EXIF data from several photos at once, and it did so very quickly.
Works Great
This app works like a charm to remove all the EXIF information from images. I’m using on Mavericks 10.9.5 without any issues.
Was in a rush and I needed to strip info on a jpeg. Downloaded this, dragged image to box, designated export location and then re-opened file in Photoshop. Got info on the file and it was completely erased. Only used it on one pic so far, but worked like a charm!
This software unsolicidly recompress images which is undesirable if all you want to is remove EXIF. It also shows modal window with ads and requires you to wait staring at the ad before proceeding. No way to disable ads with in-app purchase is provided.
I tested this app and it needs some major improvements. If you want to view the metadata of a pic install homebrew on your mac and do a brew install exiftool. Then exiftool -list image.jpg and you will see all the metadata. I did this and then ran this purge software. I listed everything again and it did purge a few things but added MORE!! Rediculous. If you have followed these instructions, do a exiftool -all= image.jpg to really purge your metadata from your pic. Additionally, you can set up a script and remove ALL metadata from ALL pictures on your entire computer with the cli too. Also, check out fotoforensics.com for a prettier (web based) look at your metadata.
Worked as advertised
The app worked as advertised. Best of all it’s free.
Has ads and only lets you delete exif ONE photo at a time
Makes you sit through a 10 second delay wanting to buy some app before it will let you do the next photo. Should state this.
Photos get lighter
I did 5 jpegs as a test. The EXIF data was removed, but... all 5 photos are now slightly lighter.
Adware
Shows you ads while you try to use the application.

Batch Removes EXIF Data, But Increases File Size
If you want to batch remove EXIF data, this will work fast. However, it more than doubled the file size of the images. For instance, a 1.6 MB image was 3.4 MB after processing. Since I’ve already done this in my workflow it means I need to do it again, not good for me when I’m trying to keep file sizes low to reduce website bandwidth. $$$
EXIFPurge
Said before in the reviews. I agree that it changes the size of the picture. Then when you try and get it back up to size it comes out blurry. Don't Use.
File size got larger
After running EXIFPurge on one jpg file, the size increased from 1.6 MB to 2.2 MB. Usually, one would think that purging data should actually reduce the file size. That did not happen in this case. I wonder why? But it did purge all the metadata, except Dimensions, Color space, Alpha channel and Last opened.
Works Like A Charm
Magic! Removee exif data in a flash from many images quickly and efficiently. Couldn't be happier with this app. It's simple, direct and effective.
Undesirable Side Effects
While it does remove EXIF data it also makes other undesirable changes to the image, including recompression and reducing all images to 72 DPI. The later is a massive problem if clients might use files for printing. The forced wait for advertising I can live with, but the undesirable side effects I can't.
Worked Perfect
I had some photos I needed to upload from my Mac to my iPhone. Realized the EXIF data is what kept sorting them as chronological order instead of how I had it in the folder. I did a batch rename on the folder and then purged it with this app, and now when I sync photos from my mac to my iphone they are in the order that I want them! Thanks!!
Not working for me, data still on the images
Not working for me, data still on the images. Tested it on many images, seems to work qucikly but shows an add for few sec no problem with the short add. Just not doing whats needed to clean the images from all data.
It works but...
Works ! Bulk metadata remover. But the image changes. So if anyone is looking for a remover that leaves image untouched this isnt it. It turned my jpg from a 1.2 to 0.5 …. Looks slightly different. Maybe some would say no change. Noticeable when zoomed in. Pixel count is same.

AdWare!… didn’t this go out of style about 10 years ago?
The publishers of this software are obviously paying shills - no one could possibly not object to this sorry ad-ware that creates a popup that can only be cleared by going to look at more sorry software created by the same morons that created this app. I cannot believe that Apple allows this behavior.
its actually recompress images (undesirable) and shows modal ads
